I am going to spend the next few blog posts explaining my holistic approach to health and fitness and how this approach can help clients overcome obesity, tiredness and disease.

The approach adopted by lion health and fitness follows six foundational principles, these are: breathing, thoughts, nutrition, hydration, exercise and sleep.

Breathing patterns, if faulty have the ability to disrupt the entire workings of the body and can affect physical, mental, emotional and spiritual states. A full breathing assessment is essential for all clients before I begin to work with them.

The thought process is also very important. Our thoughts drive our feelings and have a profound effect on our emotions. Generally, positive thinking promotes positive feelings and emotions. Whereas, negative thoughts, promote feelings of negativity and negative emotions. Thoughts = Words = Deeds.

Nutrition, as far as diet is concerned, we are all different. There is no one diet that fits all. I use metabolic typing to identify a clients nutritional needs, this is based on their ethnicity and genetic background.

It is very important to be hydrated, as humans we are between 60% and 70% water and this is the major source of energy for the brain. The brain relies on hydroelectric power to perform many of its autonomic functions. When we are dehydrated many of the common illnesses and diseases begin to manifest.

As far as exercise is concerned it is very important to keep moving, this lubricates our joints, massages our organs as well as strengthening our heart and lungs. Getting the correct amount of exercise based upon the amount of stress a client is under is key to helping them achieve their health and fitness goals.

It is important to get 7-8 hours sleep each night this ensures full restoration of physical and psychological repair cycles.
